Can we please miss off the pre 1990 rule as well and just say no retro's or reissued bikes allowed, otherwise there'll be more than a handful who's bikes would technically be out of the running. :daumenhoch:

The thing is the best old school race bikes are all very, very late 80's to early 90's. There are more and more riders discovering this now after a years racing and are moving onto these bikes.

That's eliminating quite a lot of riders Tony. Me Te Harve, FLC, Dialledbikes and Dingo to name a few.

Not a good move if you want the series to grow and become more competitive.

Or are you trying to eliminate the competitve riders?

Is it pre-1989 (as it says on BMXTALK) or pre-1990 as it said on here before the thread disappeared?

I agree that rules are rules, but the OS Series already had rules which seemed to have been running fine since 2003 when Alan Woods ran the first OS Series.

What about bikes which people can't put a date on (e.g. I have no idea when my Assassin was made, though I know the paintjob was done in 1991 cos it says so on the frame)?  Who decides when they were made?

Is this new rule gonna be the rule that divides the OS and results in splinter groups being formed?  Ironic really that after all these years, politics is still potentially the thing that divides and conquers BMX.  History repeating itself.

A bold move made a year to late. You've just ran and promoted a race series for 1" , caliper bikes, which people took part in and invested a lot in money, now those same people can't race because you've changed the rules...

Do you have anything to do with Formula1? ;D

(answering mikes thread)....Hope not, we've had a good year so far with a brilliant turnout and some good riders new and old hats  :daumenhoch:

Tony and the boys have done a lot more this year than i would have been able to do  :daumenhoch:

But i think allowing very early 90's frame and forks personally will not do any harm as long as no one takes the p1ss
If someone's a quick skillfull rider they'll be the same on 80's 90's 2000 bikes whatever.

85-93 bikes are a lot more enjoyable and easier to maintain.

What do you lot think?
