Early alloy SE stuff was made by bill bastian who also made race incs, so SE went to race inc to make early SE stuff , like the early rippers with round tubing ( actually a race inc frame stickered as an SE bike) , and visa versa , you can see ripper frames stickered as race incs

the SE cruiser known as a mauler , is a Race inc re stickered

early se stuff was made by a few companys , like cyclepro for the early SE forks

so some bikes are in fact exactly the same as the race incs just called something else

not really

race inc was doing badly , SE were doing well and couldnt keep up with demand for quads and rippers , so bought stock from Bill and sold it on, race inc were great frames and the ripper with the floval tubing is based on a RA10 i think so a real close conection between scott and Bill meant it was easy to re badge race incs

check out a NOS ripper / race inc in the museum

I thought it all started with FMF? And they were all made by Bastian, maybe not all but the majority up untill the intergrated seatpost. The RA10 didn't come out till a lot later than the PK Ripper did it?

well the Ju6 was alloy and round tubed and very early SE , so I always thought the floval tubed bikes were the later made , but its hard to know for sure as the history of these things was only work at the time lol
