Hutch Aerospeed and Hutch Beartrap advice!
« on: January 04, 2008, 03:58 PM »
Ok, I can get hold of a bottom bracket kit and spindle for a Hutch Aerospeed crank. They are the HUTCH and not copies and they look NOS from what i see. The only thing that is missing is the bearings that fit inside the bracket. From reading threads on here i gather that the bearings are a bugger to get but you can get them if you look into it.  I dont have the arms unfortunately!  :'(   :LolLolLolLol:

WHAT ARE THEY WORTH PLEASE?

Also i can get a pair of HUTCH 1/2" Spindles for Beartraps. Only the spindles though.

WHAT ARE THESE WORTH TOO.

Cheers Nick

The bearings should not be much of a problem if you go to a bearing dealer.

As for what are they worth, Fook knows  :-\ really depends who is after some.

I got the bearing cups. Everything is there apart from the bearings.

I bought a bike from someone today who apparentlly came up with the idea of copying the arms..... EXACTLY! These are the ones that are floating about. Someone very much known in the BMX world had a part to play in it too. APPARENTLY!  ???

The bloke was a fooking top man too!

Where did it say that i think it was good?

I reckon you should try and read it again mate!

What i said is that the bloke who i bought the bike from today  was a 'top man too'.

Does that mean i think he is a top bloke for repro'ing parts?

I don't get the newbies response, touch uncalled for unless Munners has edited his original post (which it doesnt look like he has).  Another newbie posting cack and pi55ing people off.

Why not repro old parts?  ???   If they are marked with the year of manufacture then i dont see a problem.
Munners..... Kappa make nice Aerospeed style crank arms m8..... Its an option i looked into. I emailed them about a year ago via their website and although the Kappa cranks are "no longer available" i was told a set could be made available and quoted around $500 (arms only) if i remember right.

I didnt change it Marty.   ;)  Thats how i put it down.

Thats why i hate writing on the net! Sometimes things come over wrongly.

The bloke who i met to buy the bike off is an extremely knowledgable bloke and has been around for years.
He is a member on here and has done shows all over. He has some sick bikes. He came up with the idea of copying Aerospeeds ages ago. It's old news. I didnt ask if he sold them as copies or as the real mccoy. I just didnt ask as i wasnt bothered. It was just interesting knowing that i met the bloke who was behind it! Thats what i meant to write in the thread. I didnt start the thread about that anyway and it annoyed me why the new fella made such a remark.

Im not dissing the bloke for being a newbie but he has got some front!  ;D Im relatively new to this site.

Knowing the bloke who got involved and took over the selling of them.........well lets just say i cant vouch for him!  :LolLolLolLol:

I bet your life he sold them as the real Deal! >:D

As far as the pedal spindles go I just got some NOS 9/16" genuine hutch titanium spindles with original NOS bearings and end bolts for £150.

Bit pricey I know but you could probably work out how much yours could be worth in crmo and 1/2"

Chris.
