WHAT IS THIS? IS THIS GENUINE?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200190704255&_trksid=p3907.m32&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching

Looks like a Master that's been stickered up like a Gen 1, but at the same time the drop outs are different and the serial isn't situated in the same place as the Gen 1's i.e. on the drop out. The serial is this: YF40802399

I requested some more photos from the guy that's selling it and he sent some over to me. It really looks like a gen 1 but at the same time his saying its 1985? Makes no sense to me, so what do you guys reckon?

Copy frame!?  Ok, I thought it maybe the case as I didn't see any brake/coaster jobber on the back. Getting quite high bids for a copy then...  ???

I love the way he's taken  pictures from every angle apart from the ones you need to make a positive id. The geezer obviously knows what he's selling.

Yeah I thought that. I asked for a photo of the whole frame from the side and he wouldn't send it, so that says it all really. Lots of bids on this already though surprisingly ....

The headtube isn't machined either. Those pics could trick some people though. Still a cool frame, whatever it is.

I've got a really nice copy one here....seat tube is longer than it should be (but easy to cut down) and the chainstays meet the BB in a different place.

Would fool a lot of people though.

*edit* Here's a pic - with the seatpost shortened slightly how would you know...even has the machined headtube and coaster tab.

What a con.  Someone should've reported it as he is selling it as a genuine Haro freestyler frame.

I'm pretty certain that F+F's was for sale a while back ......

Probably a waste of time though , as the auction is about to end...........

So are the Skyway TUFT that he is selling!

He so knows the bars and f+f are not correct! I reckon he is advertising the parts incorrectly so that if it does come on top he can plead ignorance! That way he can get away with getting top money for bits that may trick 'jo average'.

It's nicely welded too....not quite as neat around the gusset but not how it looks in the photo - it's just very shiney and reflecting the light.

Jesus, reading this is frightening, I'm trying hard to get myself an 80's race bike and i'm looking on Ebay all the time. Despite this being a Freestyler i would have had a serious think about it.

I've been out of the sport for twenty years and can only go by what people post about what their selling and i have to take it as gospel.
It also goes to prove that a lot of the guys oh here know their stuff and their are some right dodgy characters around.

Cheers guys.

To be honest Munners, i've done nothing other than read since i've been a member here. I have had some excellent advice from a fair few people, especially on flight cranks.

But when i look at all the bikes in the museum, i'm just blown away by them all and i end up a jibbering wreck. Its getting to a point now where i'm that desperate to rewind my life twenty years that i just want to buy something as soon as possible.

Its a slow process, i'll get there and hopefully i wont get stitched up. How you guys have done it i'll never know.
