Knee and Elbow Pads advice required
« on: January 21, 2008, 04:24 PM »
Chaps, need bit of advice...

Gonna have a bash at OS racing and skateparks etc. and wondered what pads would do both?
I was looking at 661 4x4 knee/shin and 2x4 elbow/forearm pads but wasn't sure if they would suit both types of riding?
I would prefer something that can be worn under jeans for skateparks etc.

Any help appreciated!

Dave,

I got a new pair of 661 Kyle Strait kneepads a few weeks ago after having a few spills whilst wearing only a pair of Federal ACL Knee Gaskets (neoprene) and would highly recommend them. They were recommended to me by Alan @ Alansbmx.com, and after a spill whilst riding a spine ramp last night, I gotta say they've already more than made it worthwhile buying them.

They're just about wearable under jeans (baggy jeans, none of these skinny fit, girls jeans...) and I wear them with a set of MPS shinpads.

I also use 661 chicken wing elbow pads, but they kinda spend most of their time in my bag...  ::)

Brian  :daumenhoch:

ps, and i wear odyssey 3rd base gloves too.

Did look at the Kyle Strait ones but I would like something to cover shins too.

Chicken wings look good for ramp etc. possibility

Oh, no skinny jeans here! wtf is that all about anyhoo?!  ??? ;D
