Sorry Moley....... sure it's summat to fly off, but a baby wedge ramp like that isn't going to teach you anything   :(

Have some fun on it, but next time save your money and stick it in your fuel tank.  Get travelling brother!!  You'll learn way more in one park session with some mates around you   :)

Then again,  give me a shout next time you are after a ramp - I'm a former ramp builder   ;)

moley:
Look, I have to learn somewhere.   I had a look at the doubles at Coppull and my brain froze.

As a spotty yoof, I wouldn't have even looked twice at it.  I would've just jumped the damn thing.

I have to re-learn the things I once knew.

I have had only had about 2 hours riding experience on a BMX and what I knew 20+ years ago has desserted me.

It will help me learn to jump without any danger and will help build my confidence again.     It will help with my timing of jumps as I spring off it to get some air rather than just ride off it.    As a basic learning tool it couldn't be better.    When you first ride a bike and you build a ramp.  You dont build it 10ft high, you start off small and build your way up.

They say "its just like riding a bike, you never forget" Blah, blah.   But it isn't,  Riding a bike is easy,   Re-learning timing, control, balance etc, etc takes time.

All you riders who have been riding the last 20+ years might have got fatter or slower but you wont have lost any of your basic skills.   I'm not that fortunate.

You might scoff at me with your fancy ramps and splines but out of small acorns grow mighty oaks!!!

I see what you are saying dude, but I what rob is saying too.

I'm  sh1t on a bmx and i reckon I could take a run up and bunny hop almost as far as you'll go off that ramp. to me that's a landing ramp not a launch ramp. but if riding off it helps your confidence then go for it dude.
 :daumenhoch:

it's riding isn't it? and that's all good.  :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

pickle:
i would've thought all you'll do on that ramp is to just roll off it rather than jump......i'm sure you could create or find better natural jumps around in wooded areas or something??  take a shuvel and make something in the local woods/trails??

JT71:
looks good for getting your mates to lie down and see if you can jump them though.  :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
