What is your favourite old school part?
« on: March 14, 2008, 09:01 AM »
Can be anything, F&F or any part.

For F&F, mine I think has to be the two tone Blue / Grey Skyway Street Beat.

As far as parts, I use to really like the Odyssey Fork Standers.

mmmmm, a tough one, but bike would be orange or green streetbeat, just thinking about maybe building my raw frame up.

it's the bike I most desired as a kid, but I'm not really going to build it unless the wife will let me keep it in the house.  :LolLolLolLol:

(on the wall)

as for parts, now there's loads of really expensive stuff, but I want one of those split tube plastic things that went around your chain. does anyone know what I mean? or even better know where I can get one? It was my favorite accessory back in the day.

Favourite F&F's was the DP Firebird Freestyler reliable never let me down, but was only just recently that i managed to get hold of one  :4_17_5:

Favourite part would have to be the blue MX1000's with tech 3s sealed in there bags in my attic oh and the gold ones too  ;D ;D ;D
there were just the best looking brakes to have period!!

I also loved the skyway MK 1 EZ bar it just looked classy then they fooked it up with the MK2  :2gunsfiring_v1:

Parts wise I'd say Shimano DX pedals. Revolutionary design when they appeared, people couldn't believe how much grip you could get from just a few little studs, and their legacy is still obvious nearly 30 years on. Never understood why they didn't do a sealed version.

This might be considered slightly odd - but it's orginal mushroom or mushroom II grips for me. I think it's something to do with them being the only thing  could ever afford to change on my bike BITD (50p pocket money did not add up to many GT Performers  :() - and you got a sticker of a mushroom with them !  :daumenhoch:

Re: frames - StreetBeats are lovely (I have 2 under restoration now), but it's a GT Performer for me every time (esp Fiola's World Tour).

F&F quadangle reynolds , just look so nice and weird at the same time
Part , Square cornered tuff neck , just so hard looking and also looks made in a garage which adds early bmx values

Frame - looptail PK Ripper.

Component - Redline Flight cranks

The two things I coveted most as a kid.  I had the frame, but didn't get the cranks.
