Freewheel removal
scooby74:
before I lose the plot and smash my wheel up, a right hand freewheel unscrews anti-clockwise right?
thecrooch:
it does yes
scooby74:
cheers crooch, thing is stuck on fast - anyone any tips on the best way to remove it?
pickle:
you can get a special tool for doing this for about £6 or the OS way was to put a screw driver on the face of it and hit the fook out of it with a hammer? but mind your hands and legs ;)
darkersomeday:
if you have the right tool for it, put the tool in the vice to hold it firm and use the wheel to get the torque to un-screw it,
if you dont want to keep the freewheel intact, squash the fook out of it in the vice and twist it of using "b.f.a.i"
you could try soaking the freewheel in anti-seize, watch your bearings though, it'll even get past the snuggist of seals,
good luck :daumenhoch:
