Before I start: Sorry to the goose purists and era correct dudes

As I mentioned on a previous post (Trident bars) Her-indoors is making me clean out the garage and bin lots of crap. So taking some advice from several RAD members. I decided the best way to get rid of the old parts was to build a new bike. Being skint after Xmas I blew the whole budjet for this build on the F+F.

Here is where I'm up to
Recycled parts. (all were very scaby)

MX1000 (were blue de-anodised and polished)
Tech 2 levers (were blue de-anodised and polished)
Suntour stem (was yellow de-anodised and polished)
Trident bars (recycled)
seat post (recycled0
Chain wheel (was blue de-anodised and polished) not yet on bike
spider (recycled)
had seat clamp
BB (recyled0

Parts bought

Wheels from ebay off a RAD member 48 quid
tyres Halfords bargain bucket 3 quid each
Kashimax MX 30 quid
Dia-compe cables 6 quid each

Parts on order
grips
pedals
crank

This build has been far more enjoyable than the last. Being restricted by money and the parts I had, has meant I have had to put a bit of time and effort in to getting the parts to look semi decent. It's far better than just buying off the shelf and sticking them on.

any goose is good guys .nice ride there my man and cheap too cant beat that .looks like the seat isnt fitted right though unless its the pic angle ?

You don't have to always worry about being era-correct - just build for yourself and enjoy.

i like it, I may still be drunk, but are you sure that thems is tech 2's?

and for the record, it is VERY rare for me to use anything NOS on any of my bikes, restoration is so much more fun and cost effective.

Buying off the shelf is cack, boring and too easy.

Beautiful flake, gooses rule nothing looks budget about it mate you got it spot on.

I prefer the personal touches anyway it adds character to the bike

Orb your not drunk they are Tech 3's (keyboard error)

MMII. Your right about the seat and the angle of dangle. It's not fitted at all just lashed it on for the pic' (nothing gets past you lot)

You've done a great job for a budget beater. I love it. Then again I love any old goose. Yours looks very tidy.

nice build flaz, looks tidy. Budget has nothing to do with quality. I like it. Restoration is accomplishment. Anybody can buy new bits. I like to restore stuff, gives me a sense of having actually done somthing other than assemble.
