Best thing to stick slack-fitting grips....?
the_wheelie_king:
Afternoon chums. I've got some Uni Hand-Grenades going onto a new build but they're quite a loose fit on the bars. My standard route would be to use sticky hairspray but it's not grippy enough. I know that if I use something like superglue I may make the grip rubber go brittle, so advice needed please...
Cheers, Bob :)

Hey Bob,
I use the rubber solution you get with puncture repair kits for fitting my grips.
Maybe this would work for you? How loose are the grips?

wrap the bars with self amalgamating insulation tape, its electrical tape that bonds to itself over a couple of days to form single piece of tape when its set it has a sticky texture that grips the grips :D like glue, easy to get of when you need to as well.
bmxbert:
hair spray or spray mount. work for me :daumenhoch:

Went to the LBS the other week and asked the guy for whatever they use for grip fixing. He said nothing in particular and recommeded two things.
One was the rubber fixing glue in puncture repair kits.
The second which he recommended highly and said he been using it himself for the last 5 years, was clear laquer. The car kind as it is waterproof and not the hair kind.
