Redline Flight instalation query.
richardb:
Hi, Any help would be much appreciated;
I am trying to install a redline flight crank with a loose ball bottom bracket on an Aero Pro Burner. Whilst assembling the bottom bracket I am having trouble with the lock nut. There is only a very small amount of thread left for the lock nut that goes on after the lock washer.
It's as if the bottom bracket housing on the frame is too wide reducing the amount of threaded section left? I am using the bikes original bottom bracket cups which I have pressed into the frame. Should I be using Redline cups which are different?
Many thanks, Rich.

Cups will be the same - have you got the bearings in the right way around?
kuwahero:
check you have the bearings the correct way round in the cups. there were only 4 or 5 threads showing on mine when I fitted the lock nut. seem to be ok though
moley:
Yep!! Bearing wrong way round is my first thought!! ???

Yes pretty sure the bearings are in the correct way so the ball bearings rotate on the cups? The lock washer I have sits on top of what is a small recess. Is this correct? If this sat lower in the recess it may help me get the lock nut on. If not I shall just make do as you suggest and see what happens. Thanks again.
