New bikes dont have brakes, so the seat angled up like that allows them to create drag to stop, the ones that sit down are known as drag queens.

I assume that is made up....I can guarantee you a 47 year old in mid life crisis will create plenty of drag with the seat in its normal (one you can actually sit on) postion.  :LolLolLolLol:

Seriously i couldnt believe how much drag a number plate added to my bike as a kid, thought it had broken lol, took 1/4 off the getin a move on speed and a whoppin 1/3 off the top speed, felt like a i was dragging a dead horse, i only put it on to pose local after that ;D
