just dug the standard out its an s 20.75 tt and its beaten half to death.the down tube has been used as a hammer and rear chain stays have had grind action
so worth giving a miss tbh plus its too short.

As far as I know, it was the same as the Hutch roller cam front brake. Similar to a pitbull but the cam had a "U" shape on the back of the cam. The the cable fed down the forks, clamping on one side of the "U", the other side was on the outside of the forks, on the back of the Cam. (There is probably someone on here who knows about the Old School Huch one. Woody Itson used them.) I heard they worked well but were a bitch to set up, and a right pain of you wanted to take off your forks or stem.

Since we're talking of front brakes and Standards, this probably just about fits in here. Not sure how you could mod this for a front brake, but this is the daddy of rim-crushing brakes:

interloc racing design - rotary brake

"The rim-crusher of cable-actuated brakes. Mounts on u-brake pivots, but instead of the standard u-brake design, the arms dont quite reach each other, and have rollers mounted on the tip of each of them - one of which is larger, pinned off-center, and has a cable running around it. this provides the mechanical advantage of this brake, and quite a mechanical advantage it is! At one time, this brake was rated above even rollercams in wet and dry stopping power, if you believe magazine tests. from the brake boss down, they're largely the same as the ird u-brake (except beefier)."

Wow great info ive just figured out that i have a standard sta platinum which is good i thought it was a regular sta ive just finished building it up for the skatepark/dirt riding its a great mutipurpose bike just need some original platinum stickers for it. I wont hold my breath in finding some but if anyone can help then send me a pm cheers.

Also i cant wait for this years old fools road trip and racing again a Hersden see you there
