Hi mate

Sorry not got back to you. I am in Newcastle on Wednesday and could bring my Turbo frame if that would help. I would only be able to leave it with you for the day and would have to take it back with me. If this is a help, give me a shout and we'll sort something oot.  :daumenhoch:

tbh the second from last pics looks really good,

last pic,  top right looks the best, it's such a hard colour, more blue/black  than black/blue

and the hardest part is even colour,  that's the trick :)

this  is  it  all  done  ......massive  thanks  to  kevin rettie  for  the  lend  of  his  frame  he  brought  it  down  on  the  train  from  scotland  to  newcastle  . his  frame  is  in good  shape  . the  paint  is  chipped  and  a  tiny  bit  faded at  the  head tube   . but  the  rest  of  the  paint  is  perfect  to  match  .....4  whole  weeks  of  hair  pulling  and  i  think  this  is  excelent  paint  match

surely that is gonna scratch off even when laquered (or not) no problem at all with the slightest knock, if your 100% happy with the colour why dont you get it clear vinyl wrapped after to preserve your hard work??

But isn't that how the Original Turbos were anyway?  ;D  We sold a few of those at our shop BITD and i always remember even brand new out of the box, when building them up for a customer they already had the odd chip or scratch here and there...

Great work on the Colour match Neil - its like the quest for the Holy Grail  :daumenhoch:

yeah good point forgot about the seam, saying that its gonna mark really easy when your building it up so whats your plan, if youve gone to the trouble of 99% matching the colour for it to only scratch or peel off , not knocking the effort but whats the point ?

ermmmmmmmmmmmm   the  point  is  no  one  has  been  able  to  do  it  apart  from  me  . 1st  good  point  . i  have  aa  very  nice  harry  leary  that  needs  painting  why  do  it  blue  or  black  or  purple   when  i  can  do  it  the  right  colour  2nd  good  point  . the  laquer  i  am  useing  in  uv resistant so  it  wont faid  unlike  the  factory  laquer  which  does  fade   and  also  its  quite  hard  wearing  so  i  am  going  to  force  dry  it  and  just  maybe  it  will with satnd  knocks  and  bumps   3rd  good  point

Neil, what you've done there is awesome and the visual match looks astonishing. :daumenhoch:

I've seen some top examples of restorations such as Scary Leary's, PKradman's and Gremlin's, which for me are probably the best examples worldwide.
