Why is 'Nitomors' so crap?
« on: March 26, 2009, 04:53 PM »
Can anybody tell me why it wont strip the paint off my alloy chainwheel? It is a chainwheel I painted myself and a brand new tin of nitromors isn't touching it!

mabye you need to mature the nitromors a bit, i did some dx's last week with some very old nitromors that was a kind of diarrhoea colour and it fetched the anodize and the overpaint off a treat.....  ;D
or mix it with some poop..

i must admit a few years ago it use to take anything off , but now it seams to take much longer to even get it bubbling , where it uses to bubble so bad the brush it was put on with would get gumed up just putting it on

I just did a set of cranks and a brake caliper, both of them were powdered and after leaving for about 45mins I used a green scourer and it came off no problems and with no effort. I used a paintstripper similar to nitromors but a spanish equivalent and no probs.

Maybe your not leaving the nitromors on for long enough mate that's all I can think of.

all paint's bond to metal differantly, most powders should bubble and come off easy, two packs can break into small

parts and only a good wire brush will get them off, aerosols usually come off straight away,  now nitromors is crap these days,

with health and safety all the guts has been taken out so now it's a mild stripper, gascket remover only works on certain

paints, mainly one coat powder finishes :)  i use a gell strip from any car paint supplies,  this shit removes anything :daumenhoch:
For powder coating drop me a pm
