Peugeot 531 Freestyler.
« on: September 07, 2012, 04:30 PM »
Well bought this blind off ebay, big mistake, ended up getting £50 back from the person i bought it from. Anyway liked the look of it and thought it would make a cool project.
When i bought it it looked like this

Was supposed to have a full rebuild so i stripped it down to check and lots was not good. Forks it came with were bent so bought some cheap ones off ebay for the moment as its going to be ridden, when i get another BMX project i will try and do a better build on this. Frame came up good with a bit of a polish

Got the forks in

And the wheels arrived, had to put them just to see

Think its going to look ok, its been a long time since ive done one of these hoping to get it ready for the 16th :daumenhoch:
Thanks

Cheers guys. Just trying to strip the paint on stem which is a DK one and i'll probably polish it, also get the paint off the chainringl and seat clamp. Seat clamp will get polished as well, not sure about the chainring, i'll see what it looks like when stripped.

Well its getting there. The head stem and seat clamp polished up ok

Bought a few more bits off ebay just to get it up and running really but im pleased with how its coming along. The chain wouldnt line up and was also rubbing the frame so i couldnt space the crank out, so i dismantled the hub on the acorn and turned a bit out the the hub so the freewheel could screw on further against the hub and now it runs perfect. Just need a rear brake cable, layback and a nice blue seat and she'll be ready for the first pub run/ride out!  :D

 A great project.

Is it me, or does it look similar to an Ammaco freestyler?
