I've got chrome Alienation Runaway rims on my Standard cruiser with u-brakes but am struggling with sqweaking. I've tried hard red Fly pads, black Kool Stop pads, and black Demolition pads with no joy.

What pads do you use on chrome rims to achieve quiet braking?

Cheers,

G.

I really toe them in, grease the pivots well and make sure everything set up well, I'm running diamond back clear pads from the local bike shop on chrome sun city lites.

Its a difficult one, when really toed in, you get less contact, but less noise.

I sand them often too, as the rubber shines up with use and makes them squeakier.

No perfect answer really.
