Brake mounting head scratcher!

<< < (2/4) > >>

oldschool rider:

Only thing I can suggest is what was done on mine Terry, If you look mine had the brake hole enlarged slightly with a round file because running the pitbull I had the same problem, However this was easy for me as It wasn't minted like yours is but it might be an idea.

HUTCHMAN:
just had a look at my T.S (us made),the brake bridge on mine is in the same place as the blue one(with regards to the bend in the seat stays),but mine has a gap of about 1 1/2" from the top of the brake bridge to the platform supports, where as yours looks to have roughly 1/2".(hope that makes sense) .The black one looks looks a bit odd,all of my Hutch's have the bridge ABOVE the bend in the stays.

wildon:
Strange this is. I got a load of us made trickstars here and they are all different!!

HUTCHMAN:
very strange,i've got 6 Hutch's,all different models, brake bridge on all of them in same place. If you look at the pics of Stodge's T.S in Classic BMX mag(if you've got a copy),his brake bridge looks to be about 5mm away from the supports and the bridge looks to be welded on top of the stays, not in between. The supports look miles away from the seat tube.

wildon:
Hmmmm .. well they did tend to change things a lot, never noticed these differences before though on the same model though , all the others may be in different positions but they all work with a brake .. except this one  :-\
