Pro class problem

(1/3) > >>

Foxxy:
Hello everyone. Hope someone can help me?

I'm building an 83 supergoose and I bought a pro class ACS stem yesterday which won't go into my forks because its too big. The figures of 22 83 are inscribed in the stem (which I assume means 22mm made in 1983?) and when I measured the internal diameter of the forks they were 20mm.

I thought pro class parts would fit mongoose/supergoose forks/frames? I assumed the forks were the original supergoose ones but maybe they are not now.
Can anyone explain what my forks are likely to be then and therefore what stem I should be looking for.

Appreciate any advice you may have.

Thanks Foxxy.

This occurs from time 2 time  ::) The smaller 20mm is a metric stem the other is a 7/8th imperial shaft. looks like stems of all sorts were made in 2 sizes 2 suit different forks depending on manufacturer . Hazzard of the hobby I'm affraid  ;) I have smaller 20mm stems fitted in 7/8th forks , it just means they creak and move  :2gunsfiring_v1: but the other way doesn't work obviously  ::)

daz bmx it!:
