If you intend to use it in anger i would be very wary. I would only use it for cruising round on unless you can increase the surface area of the weld with a larger version of the plates they put on the downtubes these days. May not be pretty though :'(

im based near hastings, east sussex. london is a bit of a mission for a weld but thats all the same  :daumenhoch:
