this works for me as well, but i now use a pyrex jug as my pint glass cracked when i poured the boiling water in it last time.

I use the wooden stirrers out of coffee shops or mcdonalds and wd40. I have torn grips in the past with screwdrivers

I go in dry,no lube or anything just brute force and its brought off within minutes  :P
