Oldschool Ace.  Nothing wrong with them at all..  Seem fine.  Just showing the welding round the headtube and giving an indication of the whole frames condition.  Seems perfectly sound as a base - just aesthetically needing work.

Been looking at SuperBike Steves work and love the look of it.  So many colours to chose from and if you cant decide why not have several!  Not sure Id go a multi route but i quite like the idea of a nice red or similar.

Forkwise I am looking at ARx Tange as there are a few about.  The only ones are see are in very good condition and it seems wrong to take a mint set of forks, de-chrome them and paint them a ludicrous colour (there's a nice set on a famous auction site at the minute).  As a man who once broke an MK1 Escort RS Mexico as it was worth more in bits I know how soul destroying it can be to wreck something with a future value!

I agree with the point on shins and Hutch pedals- those beartraps can rip through skin and bone like a knife through butter and other such cliche's...  Some true heroes riding with them on!

You got the plan spot on though deeman - build a nice hutch with some nice bits.  Its not going to be hung from a wall so id rather have components Im not scared to scratch or damage.

Cheers,

Alan

Ah my mistake, couldnt see the pics for a second and thought it was a list of issues.  :LolLolLolLol:

fatalan:
8) 8) All is good Oldschoolace.  Hoping after the chrome removal and powder application that the Hutch is still visible but all seems fine.  The welding looks tidy enough too.  As a frame its a nice piece.

deeman:
It's Super Bike Dan Alan! His work is TOP NOTCH although the corrosion is quite serious particularly around the head tube and I am sure he will have his work cut out! I wouldn't trust anyone else...you get what you pay for...
If you get a pair of mint chrome forks just leave them chrome...it will still look great.
I will look great I reckon if done right...some repop silver pads maybe...

fatalan:
It is definitely super bike Dan..  no idea where my head was at when I typed that!  I was trying to work on two tasks at once I think.

I had not really thought about it but I reckon chrome forks will work regardless of frame color especially if accompanied by a few shiny silver components or parts.  Nice idea!

Cheers

Alan
