Stace:
The gas tank is probably using 8mm flake, normal 'sparkle' is smaller !!

If you really wanted to know how Standard do it I could find out from a mate, He'll ask the right questions to the horses mouth!!

Candy is simply a coloured laquer so to speak (they do come as shifty's aswell but tend to work from clear)  A candy red will look different depending on if it has a silver, black, white or red base (or similar).  You can do some wicked green effects !

Flake does come in various shapes, styles and sizes.

I reckon a prism F&F would look the bollox !!  :4_17_5:

Stace:
That chopper must be american cause its looking for traffic on the left  ;)

I am pretty sure they are ALL powdered

harris:
dan i think also todays paints /powders are so good that they can hit the spot
in there finished look.
the real deal is the real deal, time consuming, many coats ,time and cost so there is the compromise.
todays powders can look very good for a fraction of a custom paint job.
