Gen 2 Profile Spider
diesel:
Fair enough if thats the name for a profile spider - "1 piece crank spider"
Then I stand corrected, my appologies
They are indeed for one piece cranks so you just need the shim to convert them to three piece cranks?
Does someone here have a Profile three piece crank spider - that does 'not' require a shim? Or are all Profile spiders "1 piece crank spiders"?
Mattdub:
Hey Dan ;) ,
Andy sent me that ad recently when we were talking about these , he said he had 2 with different size holes ? .
Did the 3 piece ones only come in silver maybe , the OPC ones in colours ? . Did the 3 piece ones only come with a crank set ? , TBH I don't know much about these because I ran the same pair of 401's ( with a replaced arm once due to Cocksmoor triples ! ) for about 3+ years after going from OPC .
I don't remember that ad from bitd .
Good weekend ? ;)
Bigplinky:
Alans sells both shims 23.6 (1 PC spider) and 22.0 (3 PC spider) I think I'm going to get a 23.6 and machine it to a tight fit as I'm a bit anal like that.

talking of being anal...
-whats wrong with jamming a pair of tapered pliers into your ring, then reaming it out?
