Ukai's were very well know bitd, I always used Ukai's on my race bikes, starting with 1 3/8" when I was a young un.

the majority of people only rode a raleigh burner for a year, then fooked bmx off.
that's why they only remember plastic wheels, and have an image of bmx being a "kid's bike"

It was either Tuffs or spokes round my way.
If you went down the spokes route then you had the choice of either Ukai or Araya.
I was an Araya man through and through. ;)

arayas or ukais , same difference
ukais appeared on a few stock bikes so they are more desirable to people who are trying to recreate the stock bikes
Ukais were a bit cheaper i think bitd , so they got second place to araya as a brand
I bet they were made in the same place
